Rhinoplasty in Turkey: What to Check Before You Book

A checklist for anyone comparing nose surgery abroad from the UK: who operates, what the quote covers, and what the examination can still change.

Who Operates, and How You Find That Out

The single question that separates one offer from another is who holds the knife. Not the clinic name, not the coordinator you have been messaging, but the named surgeon and the field they are certified in. Ask for the name in writing before you agree to anything, and ask when you will speak to them rather than to the person arranging your trip.

A clinic that answers this quickly is telling you something useful about how it works. A clinic that says the surgeon will be assigned closer to the date is also telling you something.

What a Nose Consultation Is Actually Looking At

Photographs are a starting point, not an assessment. An examination looks at the inside of the nose as well as the outside, at how you breathe, and at what the underlying structure will allow. That is why a plan built from pictures alone can change on the day you arrive, and why it should be allowed to.

If a plan cannot change after an examination, it was never a plan. Find out what happens to your booking, and to what you have paid, if the surgeon recommends something different or recommends nothing at all.

Reading the Quote Line by Line

Set the total aside and read the lines. Surgery, hospital, anaesthesia, the hotel, transfers, a translator: which of these appear, and which are absent? Absent lines are not free. They are simply not yours yet.

One scenario is worth naming: an overnight stay becomes necessary, and someone pays for it. A quote that answers awkward questions before you ask them is worth more than a lower one that does not.

Coming Back to the UK

Aftercare is where distance is felt. Before you travel, agree in writing who you contact once you are home, in what language, and how quickly they answer. Find out whether your GP will be sent anything, and what.

Tell your GP you are going. Not for permission, but because the person who sees you afterwards should not be learning your history from you in a hurry.

What Should Make You Pause

A price that only holds if you book this week. A plan agreed without an examination. A refusal to name the surgeon. A conversation that keeps returning to payment rather than to your face.

None of these are proof of anything on their own. All of them are worth a second question.

Breathing Is Part of the Operation, Not a Separate One

A nose that looks different and works worse is a poor result, and the assessment that prevents it happens inside the nose. Say early if you have had a broken nose, if you use a spray to breathe, if one side has always been harder, or if you snore. None of this is a complication for the clinic; it is information the surgeon needs before drawing anything.

Functional work is either included in the plan you have been quoted or treated as an addition, and the answer tells you which. The answer tells you whether you were assessed or sold to.

What You Should Have in Your Hand Before You Fly Home

An operation note describing what was done. Instructions for the first weeks in a language you read fluently. A named contact and a route to reach them. Details of anything placed, used or prescribed.

This is the paperwork a UK clinician will ask for if you ever need attention, and it is far easier to obtain while you are still in the building than by email from another country weeks later.

Not treatment advice. Every plan is decided by an examination, not by an article.
