Accessibility
What this site is tested against, what it passes, and what to do if something is still in your way.
The standard we work to
This site is built and tested against WCAG 2.1 level AA. Every page is checked automatically on each build at two screen widths, and the checks cover colour contrast, heading structure, form labels, link names and keyboard operability.
Touch targets are checked against WCAG 2.2 as well, at the 24 by 24 pixel threshold.
What that means in practice
The site works without JavaScript: the menus, the procedure tabs and the frequently asked questions all open without it. Nothing depends on a mouse; every control can be reached and used from the keyboard.
Motion respects your system setting. If you have reduced motion enabled, the animated elements stop and nothing is lost, because no information is carried by movement alone.
Text can be resized in your browser without the layout breaking, and no text is placed inside an image.
Where it can still fall short
Automated testing catches a great deal and it does not catch everything. Judgements about clarity, about whether a description is genuinely useful, and about how a page reads with a screen reader are human ones.
If something on this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, tell us and we will fix it. Include the page and what happened; that is enough.
