Photographs Are Not a Diagnosis
Why a plan built from images can be wrong, what photographs are actually good for, and what changes when someone examines you.
What a Photograph Can Tell a Surgeon
Images are genuinely useful. They let a surgeon understand what you are describing, they make the first conversation faster, and they help both of you agree on which feature you are even talking about.
That is a real contribution and it is why we ask for them. It is also the whole of what they do.
What They Cannot Tell Anyone
A photograph does not show tissue quality, skin elasticity, how bone sits under the surface, or how you heal. It flattens depth, and depth is often the thing that decides the technique. It also cannot answer whether your general health makes an operation sensible right now.
This is why a number or a technique quoted from images is provisional at best. It is not dishonest to give one, but it is dishonest to present it as settled.
The Feature That Bothers You Is Not Always the Cause
People arrive naming a procedure. Often the examination points elsewhere, because what looks wrong in an image and what causes it are different things. A profile read as a nose can be a chin. A tired upper face can be brow position rather than eyelid skin.
That is not a sales technique. It is the ordinary reason examinations exist.
What to Send Anyway
Send what you have, in ordinary light, from more than one angle, without filters. Say what bothers you in your own words rather than naming a procedure, because naming it is the clinic's job and the words you use tell a surgeon more than a label does.
Then treat the reply as a starting point. If it arrives as a fixed price and a fixed date, you have learned something about the clinic rather than about your face.
Not treatment advice. Every plan is decided by an examination, not by an article.
